This couch potato decided to go into action mode and fast, I needed a sift through the many triathlon training programs and find the best one for me.

What had I done?  An ironman, I have never done a half, an Olympic, and there was the other problem, the 2.4 mile swim that I had to complete.  Holy crap, how would I do that when I couldn’t swim in the river that was a distance of 500 yards.

Well, I did have a year to prepare, but at that moment upon reflection it seemed like 5 years would have been more appropriate, so how did this fat coach potato pull this off.  For the rest of this story including the amazing triathlon training programs and some FREE tips and techniques visit my  blog listed below.

Here are the steps I took.

  1. Find a solid triathlon training programs, after researching many this one is great for a newbie like me.  CLICK HERE
  2. Joined a triathlon Club, this was huge.  Don’t skip this STEP.  Here is our teams site.  Cyclonaut Multisport
  3. Found myself a swim coach, and used the triathlon training programs guide to swimming workouts
  4. Hooked up with some people who had experience to train with.  Especially bike.
  5. Researched the equipment I needed.  What is great is the triathlon training programs has a list, no research needed.  SWEET
  6. Followed my triathlon training programs guide daily without skipping a beat, I mean through rain, snow, whatever, nothing made me skip a workout.

Triathlon training programs brought more to the table than I bargained for.

So thats about it, joining the club and having a good triathlon training programs was key.  Once I did these easy steps, things really started to happen and fast.  Follow your triathlon plan, takes a long time to train for an ironman, you don’t want to over train and get an injury.
